Who is Rachel?
I'm a little crazy, but aren't we all?
My name is Rachel Settle, and I'm the Bold Co. Girl!
Here are some fun facts about me: I got married in June of 2019, and marriage has been amazing! My husband and I have been together since July of 2014, and these have been the most rad years of my life. We love to watch anime, eat sushi with our friends, beat escape rooms, watch movies, and go to amusement parks! Some of our huge goals include traveling all over the world, buying a house, and getting all the tattoos. Collectively we have 11 tattoos already!
I love the show Friends, and will quote it word-for-word if a situation or something someone says reminds me of it! I love coffee, and have a very impressive collection of mugs, but made the switch to decaf because I have anxiety and it made a world of difference in keeping me calm and helping me sleep! I have a passion for all pretty things, and love creating new stuff!
My favorite place to go for crafting items is Michael's, and my husband routinely has to pull me away to keep me from buying out the entire store. The same goes for Target.
I’m a sucker for a good book, and some of my all-time top faves are the Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Keturah and Lord Death, and pretty much anything written by Maggie Stiefvater.
Basically, I’m just a goofball that decided I wanted to start a business, and here we are!
Why the Bold Co. Girl?
The Bold Co. Girl started with an idea and a passion for supporting female entrepreneurs.
I had been in business for about 2 years before wanting more for my company.
The Bold Co. Girl started off as "Senner of Attention Event Planning".
As I booked weddings and events, I also branched out into some other areas of business like DIY party supply and decor as well as art. In 2017 my church had just partnered with a non-profit organization based in West Africa- the Safe Girl's Home. (Read about that here) They were hosting a fundraiser for the organization, and I tapped into an old hobby of mine- painting and hand-lettering- to create some pieces to sell and give the money as donations.
From there, my passion for creating was re-ignited and I launched an entire collection of products including hand-lettered journals and greeting cards, mugs, and hand-painted framed art. Over time, this passion grew along with a desire to get to know my brides and event hostesses better even after their weddings and events were over.
In January of 2019, I officially changed "Senner of Attention" to "The Bold Companies" and posted the first ever Bold Woman Feature! This truly marked the beginning of what the Bold Co. Girl is today. As I interviewed more and more incredible women in my community, my vision for the Bold Co. Girl really flourished.
It became clear to me that my true passion lied in creating not only resources that benefited my fellow female entrepreneurs, but creating a community for bold women to feel understood, encouraged, and empowered.
In late 2019, "The Bold Companies" became the Bold Co. Girl and has been driven to provide for women in business ever since.
